Locality 1 and 2 in Suffolk PCT and Waveney area of Great Yarmouth and Waveney PCT.

Population Served

Children and young people aged 0 – 25

Services Provided

  • Assessment
  • Active assistance in the adaptation of any suitable aid/system
  • Provide up to date information on a range of issues related to the field augmentative and alternative communication
  • Long-term loan of appropriate communication aids
  • Ongoing training and support to children with loan equipment and to their family and the relevant professionals involved
  • Manage, on behalf of Suffolk Local Authority, the organisation of warranties and repairs of equipment on loan

Staffing

  • Principal Speech & Language Therapist: full time, term-time only
  • Secretary: 13 hours weekly, term-time only
  • Specialist Technician: 7 hours weekly, term-time only
  • Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist: 0.1 WTE
  • Highly Specialist Speech & Language Therapist: 5 sessions weekly; 3 sessions funded via service level agreement with Education Authority
